20. Ul-Ji Tul

– Ul-Ji Tul –

The twentieth pattern of Traditional Taekwon-do is intended for the master Taekwon-do practitioner who is preparing for the fifth Dan exam.

Begin
Assume a parallel stance towards D with the ready posture Chumby-I.

Movement 1
Step with the left foot back towards C, form a right walking stance towards D, and make twin backward outer fist-punch high.

Step with the right foot backward towards C, form a left walking stance towards D, and make a forearm X-block downward.

Stay in the same stance and make a knifehand X-block upward.

Execute movements 2 and 3 consecutively.

Movement 4
Stay in the same stance and make a right frontal inner knifehand-strike high.

Movement 5
Turn left on the right foot, step sideways with the left foot towards C, form a sitting stance towards B, and make a left sideways backside knifehand-strike middle.

Turn left on the left foot and make a right inward circle-kick middle towards C in the palm of the left knifehand.

Turn left on the left foot and place the right foot to the side towards C, form a sitting stance towards A and make a right elbow-strike middle into the palm of the left knifehand.

Stay in the same stance and bring the palm of the right knifehand to the front of the left fist….

…… stay in the same stance and make a right backward elbow-strike middle.
Support the technique with the palm of the left knifehand on the front of the right fist.

Stay in the same stance and make a right backward backside fist-strike high and a left checking fist-punch low.

Turn left on the right foot and bring the left foot next to the right foot, forming a closed stance towards D and make a twin sideways elbow-strike middle.

Place the left foot in front of the right foot to the side towards E, form a right X-stance towards D and look towards E.
Keep the hands as in movement 10.

Turn left on the left foot and make a right side-kick middle towards E.

Step the right foot towards E and place the left foot in front of the right foot sideways towards E, form a right X-stance towards D and make a twin sideways elbow-strikes high.

Turn left on the right foot and move the left foot forward, forming a right L-stance towards F and make a twin knifehand-block.
