– So-San name –
This traditional Taekwon-do form consists of 72 movements and is therefore the longest of all.

Official name
So-San is the pseudonym of the monk Choi Hyong Ung who lived from 1520 to 1604.
The 72 movements that this exercise form entails refer to his age when he formed a group of monk-soldiers to fight Japanese pirates who made the Korean peninsula unsafe.
Additionally
The Japanese pirates invaded Korea at a time when the official government did not have a strong army. So-San formed a guerrilla army that, armed with swords and spears, faced off against the invaders who were armed with muskets. Nevertheless, she achieved many victories.
So-San died sitting in meditation in the lotus position.
Learning
