Official name
Choong-Moo was the nickname of the great admiral Yi Soon-Sin from the Joseon era. He is said to have invented the first armored battleship (Turtle Ship) in 1592, a precursor to today’s submarine. The reason this form ends with a left strike symbolizes his premature death, indicating that he could not fully demonstrate his loyalty to the king.

Additional
Choong-Moo is still honored in South Korea today as a historical naval hero who protected the kingdom from a Japanese invasion in 1592.

Learning opportunities
This Tul is the last Tul that must be learned in order to achieve the 1st Dang degree. It is a form in which all aspects of the previous Tuls come together. A concluding exercise, so to speak.
