– Combinations –
Normally, a technique is completely finished before moving on to the next movement. In Taekwon-do Tuls, there are various variations regarding this: Consecutive, Continuous and Connective,

Consecutive
In a consecutive movement, no time is lost between one technique and the next. The two techniques stay in the same stance. The endpoint of the first technique is equal to the beginning of the next. This way, both techniques can be performed in one exhalation.

Continuous
In a continuous movement, there is also a differing transition between one technique in one stance and the following technique in another. Normally, a transition between two techniques in different stances occurs at a steady pace, neither fast nor slow. To create a ‘continuous movement’, the transition is done quickly, and the second technique begins immediately thereafter. This allows both techniques to be performed in one exhalation. During the interim phase, the inhalation is held.

Connective
The connection is applied when a block is immediately followed by a counter-attack. Both are arm techniques. The end of the first technique is the same as the beginning of the next. Techniques can have different stances. Both techniques use an exhalation phase. The difference with a ‘consecutive motion’ or ‘continuous motion’ is that the block pulls the attacker slightly towards it before the next technique finishes the job.
